Steril-Aire's HO UVC Emitter™ brings commercial UVC power to smaller A/C systems through a uniquely constructed tube, patented power supply and patented application technique to put the world's highest ultraviolet “C” output where it's needed most. It bathes the cooling coil to effectively and efficiently kill surface mold and bacteria as well as airborne germs that circulate through them to reduce allergies, allergy asthma and the spread of disease.
Germicidal UVC has been used for more than 65 years but conventional lights can't work where they are needed most -- at the A/C coil and drain pan. Steril-Aire solved this with patented UVC lights and power supplies, which are proven to maintain high output in A/C equipment. The SteriLight brand is specifically designed for easy and affordable use in small units of all types. Steril-Aire's patented products and applications completely degrade organic materials cleaning surfaces to “like new.” Mold, bacteria and other organic material are continuously eliminated leaving the coil, drain pan and plenum sparkling clean and odor free. The drain pan drains without chemicals and the cooling capability comes back to “like new” ... saving energy. What's more, the coil and drain pan no longer broadcast mold, bacteria or their products so ductwork and rooms are cleaner and odor free.
The SteriLight brand quickly and easily installs from the exterior of the coil box, making it ideal for small A/C unit installations. Whether an “A” or slab coil that's vertical, horizontal or counterflow, simply create two 1" holes in the coil box, attach the fixture with self-tapping screws, and soft-wire as needed. Four convenient sizes fit most any new or existing system to provide the greatest germicidal effect where it's proven to be needed most.
 The independently tested Steril-Aire UVC Emitter produces up to 7 times the output of conventional products. It is greatest at temperatures where most A/C units operate to keep your system clean and to kill a much wider range of microbes.
All Steril-Aire units are factory assembled and tested. They consist of a housing, power supply, Emitter sockets and 2 Emitters. The entire fixture is UL listed for safe use in all HVAC environments.
Housing is constructed of galvanized steel for years of worry-free service. Components are incorporated into one integral assembly that is mounted outside the coil box. The Emitters protrude into the airstream by a patented, heavy-duty spring-wire fastener holding mechanism that also allows for quick and easy service. Patented electronic power supply is the safer Class P2 type and operates in rapid start mode for longer tube life. It has a power factor of 0.95, a conversion efficiency of 70% and a THD of <10%. It maximizes photon production, radiance and reliability while supressing RF and EMI noise. It requires 115Vac, 0.65 amps and will operate two only RGTS style Emitters* in airstreams of 32-170° F and velocities up to 1000 fpm. *Use of other tube types may damage power supply and void warranty. Sockets shall be of the Circline® type for ease of service. Emitters are broadband (250-260 nm), High Output, T5 diameter type lamps with Circline®, 4 pin ceramic bases. Emitters are capable of producing high output in air of 32-170° F and velocities to 1000 fpm. They are constructed of type “L” hard glass quartz to eliminate ozone production. Components are selected to enhance plasma stability and to preclude quartz soilization. All Steril-Aire products are independently tested under typical HVAC operating conditions and in in accordance with the general provisions of IES Lighting Handbook, 1981 Applications Volume. Total output per 1" arc length shall not be less than 10µW/cm² at 1 meter in 400 fpm airstream of 45° F.
