Frequently Asked Questions About Austin Air Cleaners

Answers to your questions:

Why are Austin Air's products superior to others on the market?

  1. The filtration system. Austin uses 15 lbs. of activated carbon in the HealthMate and an advanced military carbon cloth in the Allergy Machine placed inside the HEPA filter to capture more airborne particles.
  2. Austin Air's products are made of steel and use a baked on powder coating so the products do not off-gas. Other companies have plastics products and/or use sprayed on paint, so their products can emit harmful gases.
  3. Austin Air's products have high-velocity airflow, which creates a clean air pocket around the user. If you turn on an Austin Air cleaner next to a competitor you can really feel the difference.

How many filters are inside the Austin Air cleaner?
One main filter made up of 2 filtration media - in the HealthMate it's the True Medical HEPA paper and activated carbon and zeolite. In the Allergy Machine it's the True Medical HEPA paper with military carbon cloth placed inside. The only other filter is the pre-filter (also know as the permafilt) The pre-filter is a cotton cloth that lines the inside wall of the unit. The purpose of the pre-filter is to stop any hair or large dust particles from clogging the HEPA.
