Bioclimatic has been active in the HVAC market for more than 18 years. During this period we have completed thousands of projects for IAQ, Odor/Air Pollution Control, and critical environments. During the past five years, Bioclimatic has also been instrumental in developing Air Purification Systems for a Federal Agency to protect building occupants against Chemical & Biological Warfare Threats.

Following the September 11 attacks together with the possibility of additional attacks of an unknown nature, Bioclimatic has designed an Air Purification System for the HVAC market that is well suited to address the various Chemical and Biological Warfare Threats. Further, the FBI recently released an advisory stating that the release of a toxic chemical into an air handling system is a credible threat. Intelligence has focused on the use of Hydrogen Cyanide (HCN).

We provide Air Purification Systems and/or complete custom-built air-handling units from 500 cfm to 50,000 cfm. For Systems under 10,000 cfm capacity, we offer an economical design incorporating a tubular frame with one inch thick panels. Performance will approach 99.95% for gas phase contaminants and 99.995% for microbial and biological matter. For larger Systems, we offer 100% Aluminum construction with two inch insulated panels. System leakage will not exceed 0.3% of design airflow at 125% of rated static pressure. These larger systems are constructed to meet the most stringent performance requirements. Performance against gas phase contaminants will be 99.99% and for biological matter 99.999%. Systems are designed to provide survivability for periods to several weeks.

Protection against toxic industrial gases like HCN is readily available either as a retrofit into an existing air handling system or a stand-alone system. For protection in one room to less stringent performance criteria, Bioclimatic offers a 500 cfm ceiling mounted unit for installation within a 2 x 4 lay-in ceiling grid and a surface mounted unit that may be used in either a free blow or ducted arrangement. The principal benefit with these Systems is the ability to control biological matter using UV “C” and 99.97% HEPA filtration.
